Which Callusan Mousse Should You Choose? A Podiatrists Guide
A moisturiser is easier to use consistently when its texture suits you. If you dislike the feel of a heavy foot cream, a lightweight mousse may be worth considering.
Our expanded Callusan range includes nine formulations for different skin-care needs. Some focus on dry or callused feet; others offer freshness, sensitive-skin care or body moisturising.
As a podiatrist, I recommend choosing according to your main concern and the complete formulation. A higher urea percentage is only one part of that decision.
What is Callusan cream mousse?
Callusan is a German-made range of skin-care mousses. The fine foam spreads easily and absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy film. Products differ in ingredients, fragrance and intended use, so they are not interchangeable.
My podiatrist’s tip: Start with the job you need your product to do: moisturise dry skin, soften callused areas, refresh sweaty feet or care for sensitive skin.
Which Callusan product suits your needs?
Hydro: everyday moisture for dry skin
Hydro is a fragrance-free moisturising mousse containing 5% urea. It is an option for dry skin on the feet and body when you want a lightweight texture rather than a heavier cream.

Callusan Hydro 5% Urea
Fragrance-free moisturising care for dry feet and body skin.
View productExtra: care for very dry, rough feet
Extra contains 10% urea and is designed for very dry, rough skin. It offers a higher urea concentration than Hydro while retaining Callusan’s light mousse texture. It is free from added fragrance.

Callusan Extra 10% Urea
Moisturising mousse for very dry, rough skin.
View productForte: intensive care for callused skin
Forte is the intensive callus-care option in this range. Our listing contains 15% urea and is intended to help soften dry, hardened skin, including rough heels. Its formulation includes avocado oil and shea butter.

Callusan Forte 15% Urea
Intensive moisturising care for dry, hardened and callused skin.
View productFresh: freshness for sweaty feet
Fresh is designed for damp, sweaty feet and foot odour care. Menthol provides a cooling sensation, while sage extract, almond oil and allantoin feature in the formula. Unlike several other Callusan mousses, Fresh has a fragrance.

Callusan Fresh
Refreshing foot care with menthol and sage extract.
View productVinum: cooling care for tired legs and feet
Vinum combines 3% urea with red vine leaf and horse chestnut extracts, plus cooling menthol. The manufacturer identifies it as compatible with compression and support stockings, including silicone adhesive bands. Follow your stocking manufacturer’s care instructions too.

Callusan Vinum
Cooling, fragrance-free skin care for tired legs and feet.
View productRapid: moisturising care for fungus-prone skin
Rapid contains 5% urea with Iceland moss and blackcurrant extracts. The manufacturer positions it for skin prone to fungal infections. It is a moisturising skincare option; do not assume it replaces antifungal medicine for an existing infection.

Callusan Rapid 5% Urea
Fragrance-free foot mousse with urea and botanical extracts.
View productVerde: moisturising care for sensitive skin
Verde is developed for sensitive skin with demanding care needs. It combines 5% urea with hemp seed oil, cannabidiol and evening primrose oil. Check the full ingredient list and label for suitability, especially if your skin reacts easily.

Callusan Verde
Moisturising sensitive-skin care with hemp seed oil and evening primrose oil.
View productSanté: lightweight body moisturising
Santé is a body-care mousse containing 5% urea, tiger nut oil and shea butter. It is an option for moisturising beyond the feet, with a delicate fragrance and a quickly absorbed texture.

Callusan Santé 5% Urea
Fragranced moisturising body mousse with urea and shea butter.
View productMares: marine-inspired skin and body care
Mares provides moisturising care for dry, stressed skin. Its distinguishing ingredients are algae extract, sea minerals and marine collagen. It has a fresh fragrance, so it differs from the unperfumed options in the collection.

Callusan Mares
Moisturising body care with algae extract, sea minerals and marine collagen.
View productHow to fit Callusan into your routine
Follow the instructions on your chosen can. Apply sparingly to cleansed, dry skin and massage in gently. A little mousse spreads a long way; adding more is not necessarily better.
Allow it to absorb before dressing. For compression garments, check compatibility and follow the garment manufacturer’s instructions.
Choose a routine you can maintain and reassess if the product causes irritation or your skin is not improving.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Callusan Hydro, Extra and Forte?
Hydro contains 5% urea for dry skin, Extra contains 10% for very dry, rough skin, and our Forte listing contains 15% for more intensive callused-skin care. Consider the whole formulation and your skin’s condition when choosing.
Are all Callusan mousses fragrance-free?
No. Hydro, Extra, Forte, Rapid and Vinum are identified as free from added fragrance. Fresh, Santé and Mares have a fragrance. Check the individual ingredient list and packaging, especially if you have sensitivities.
Can I use Callusan on my body?
Selected products are intended for broader skin care. Hydro, Santé and Mares offer body-moisturising options. Follow the directions for the specific formulation.
Which Callusan mousse can I use with compression stockings?
Vinum is specifically identified by the manufacturer as compatible with support and compression stockings. Let it absorb and follow the instructions supplied with your stockings.
Is Callusan suitable for people with diabetes?
The manufacturer identifies several formulations, including Hydro, Extra and Forte, as suitable for people with diabetes. Check the individual product and seek advice if you have reduced sensation, circulation concerns or broken skin.
Does Callusan Rapid treat athlete’s foot?
Rapid is positioned for the care of fungus-prone skin. Do not rely on it as a substitute for an appropriate antifungal treatment. Ask a pharmacist or podiatrist about a suspected infection.
When moisturiser is not enough
Deep or bleeding cracks, open wounds, persistent irritation or signs of infection need assessment. A moisturiser does not address every cause of a foot problem.
