In certain situations, a patient may need the addition of a heel lift to reduce stress on the Achilles tendon and lower leg structures.
In the case of a limb length discrepancy being present, a heel lift may be applied under an orthotic device or insole on the short side.
These lifts are placed at the back and center of the orthotic device extending forward until it finishes under the tarsal area (middle of the foot).
May also be stuck directly to a sandal or insole (bottom side is adhesive)
